Crimean-born womenswear designer Lena Lumelsky has steadily been gaining notoriety for her progressive exploration of notions of the body, feminine identity, and the historical meaning of fashion. Her highly sought-after garments are known for being intricate, versatile, often multilayered with a nod to film noir heroines and old Hollywood glamour. Lumelsky graduated from the fashion section of the legendary Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 2006. In 2010, her black silk evening dress was displayed by the MoMu fashion museum in Antwerp as a part of the BLACK Exhibition. She is lives and creates in Antwerp.
