Georgian-born and Paris-based designer, Djaba Diassamidze, is well-renowned for his highly sophisticated pieces that cannot be dressed down. His silhouettes and palette echo classic 1940s Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Balenciaga and Charles James. His clothes are made for a sensual, theatrical woman who is not afraid of red lipstick and large plumes. His dresses are often floor length, with sweetheart necklines, in black velvet, tulle or deep-red silk. As a child prodigy, he held his first catwalk show at the age of 16 at the Georgian National Youth Palace. He presently shows his capsule collections at Paris Couture Week.
